The workshop was kicked off by a short introduction, followed by a series of presentations outlining the current state of the seven sub-projects. These included updates on the data collected to date, the data collection still in progress and the expected outcomes of each sub-project. The presentations demonstrated that valuable field work has already been conducted, making use of diverse methods such as expert interviews, participant observation and document analysis. Looking forward, several papers addressing different controversies and topics within the housing sector are planned, alongside further events. In addition to the upcoming lecture lunch series, these will include three policy fora.
During this part of the workshop, opportunities for collaborative work with other researchers on the project team were highlighted. In a next step, said opportunities for collaborative work were gathered and overlaps between both field work and potential outcomes were identified. After the lunch break, these ideas were further formalised in small group discussions. One of the central aims of this internal workshop was to establish working relationships for future publications. The final session was dedicated to a discussion on authorship, reflecting on the formalities and expectations associated with the inclusion in authorship when collaborating on a paper.
This internal workshop provided the project team with an opportunity to update each other on ongoing research processes and to develop collaborations across sub-projects and themes. The team is now looking forward to the next meeting in November, which will tackle the communication strategy of the Responsible City project.
