Dr. Andrej Holm, urban sociologist at Humboldt University Berlin, explores the intersections of gentrification, comparative housing policy, and European urban politics. His research is grounded in long-standing engagement with housing struggles in Berlin, including close observation of initiatives such as the Deutsche Wohnen & Co enteignen referendum. As a public intellectual and former State Secretary for Housing for the Berlin Senate, Holm significantly shaped debates around housing justice in Germany. His critical perspective offers valuable insights for understanding and advancing affordable housing in specific contexts as well as in comparative analysis.
